Aledo resident Nick Stanley announced today his candidacy for Aledo’s Place 3 City Council seat. Like all City Council Members in Aledo, this seat is At-Large and represents the entire City. Stanley, accompanied by his wife, Courtney, filed his application this morning to challenge incumbent, Clint Robinson, at Aledo City Hall.
“I am passionate about serving my community and I’m excited about the opportunity to serve on the Aledo City Council,” said Stanley. “The City of Aledo is a vibrant and fast-growing community that will continue to see rapid growth in the coming years. My intention and the intention of hundreds of my neighbors is to focus on smart and intentional growth that fits the desires of the people of Aledo. As your City Councilman, I pledge to be accessible and act as your voice on issues that matter most to you. It is a fundamental responsibility of all who hold public office to listen and communicate regularly and with transparency to keep their constituency well-informed,” Stanley continued. As a part of his core issues of focus, Stanley went on to say that “good stewardship of taxpayer dollars and access to basic municipal services, such as affordable water, law enforcement, and well-maintained roads will be of utmost importance as we see continued growth.”
Stanley, who has served on the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Aledo Economic Development Council since 2018, previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives as the Outreach Director under Congresswoman Kay Granger in the 12th U.S. Congressional District of Texas. As Outreach Director, he established a strong network and partnership with community leaders, elected officials, non-profits, and other stakeholders. As a passionate, impact-driven leader, he was influential in several key areas, such as veterans’ affairs, school safety initiatives, anti-human trafficking efforts, reducing homelessness, and battling child and elder abuse.
Currently, he serves as the Vice President of Business Development & Government Affairs for Rehab Warriors of America, a tech-enabled veteran vocational institute committed to training and deploying America’s veterans to rebuild distressed communities across the nation. Stanley also owns and operates Stanley Oil & Gas, an independent land services company providing land management and right-of-way services to oil and gas companies throughout Texas.
Nick’s compassion and dedication for serving others continues in his role with Rehab Warriors as well as his involvement on non-profit boards, including as Vice President of Development on the Executive Board at Alliance For Children, the Children’s Advocacy Center for Tarrant County.
Stanley studied Political Science and holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University. Nick and his wife, Courtney, who works for Ottobock North America, a prosthetics company, live in Point Vista in the Parks of Aledo. They have two sons, Nolan (3) and Reagan (1). They are parishioners of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Aledo.
