Issues that Matter to Aledo

Nick is focused on protecting and preserving the Aledo way of life, smart and intentional economic development and growth, open communication and transparency, and basics like streets, sidewalks, parks and crime.

Dear Aledo neighbor,

During my tenure as Mayor, we’ve brought positive momentum to our fast-growing city because we have come together – families of all walks of life – with a shared mission to make Aledo the best place to raise children, enjoy retirement or grow a business.

I like to call this the “Aledo Way” – a spirit of community-wide cooperation and teamwork to maintain our high quality of life in every part of our city. Because of this collective, “can do” approach, we’ve been able to:

  • Expedite establishment of a police department to protect our families, schools, and businesses.
  • Enact policies for smart economic growth to safeguard Aledo from substandard, high-density development. 
  • Increase communication and transparency to keep our residents and taxpayers informed on issues facing our city.
  • Improve efficiency at City Hall to save tax dollars and keep our property tax rate one of the lowest in North Texas.
  • Focus our limited tax dollars on better basics to provide quality roads, parks, library, and public safety.
  • Diversify our tax base with new restaurants and businesses to ease the tax burden on homeowners.


To sustain our prosperous direction – and to keep urban problems away from our peaceful neighborhoods – I promise to continue working with the City Council and leaders from across our city and maintain well-planned growth policies that align with the wishes of Aledo families.

I’m Nick Stanley and I originally ran for Mayor to protect the Aledo way of life – to protect what makes Aledo special. We are going to continue to grow but the focus must remain on smart and intentional growth. I’m not running just to tell you what I think is important, though, I’m here to listen. I want to hear from my neighbors. If re-elected, I will continue to be an extension of your voice.
